Interested in becoming a member of St. Peter’s?
We recognize that the process of selecting a church can be an intimidating process. It is also a decision that must not be made lightly. While different churches can and do offer a variety of services and activities, Jesus says that “his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” (Jn. 4:24) In the end, finding a church which is faithful to the Bible makes all other factors secondary.
If you are interested in becoming a communicant member of St. Peter’s, this is a decision we do not want to rush or pressure you into. When you are comfortable, please feel free to ask our pastor, or go to our Faith Builders online class–a series of 16 worksheets and videos spread out over 10 lessons. These are designed to help familiarize you with what St. Peter’s believes, confesses, and practices based on the words of the Bible.
Upon completion of the class, the pastor will ask if you have any further questions, or if there are any topics that you feel need to be discussed further. After that, the pastor will ask you if you are in agreement with everything that has been passed on to you during this time of instruction. If you are in agreement, then you will have an opportunity to make a public confession before the church or the leaders of the church. In that public confession, you will be asked to confirm your agreement with what St. Peter’s confesses. We will then welcome you into fellowship, encourage you to be active in your worship life, and invite you to join with us regularly at the Lord’s Table and the support of the ministry of the gospel of Jesus.
